Parker is a commuter city located in the far southeast corner of the Denver Metro area. Parker was founded in 1864 and incorporated in 1981. Since that time, the population has grown to more than 145 times the original count of 285 to over 45,000. Parker is not only known for its Western-Victorian downtown area, but also known for the easy access to the Denver metropolitan area. The median age of 31 is younger than Denver.
Attractions include The Wildlife Experience, which is an indoor attraction that displays wildlife in a natural setting and includes 3D movies about nature. PACE Center hosts art displays. Microbrewery Elk Mountain Brewing offers tastings daily until 9 PM, weekends until 11 PM. H2O’Brien Pool offers two water slides, a waterworks play structure, geysers and sprays, a circulation pool, and a lap pool. Monkey Bizness is an indoor play area for children. Perhaps the shining star of Parker is the Parks and Recreation programs, which have something for everyone. Aquatic programs include adult swim, aqua aerobics, lifeguard and instructor training, and swim lessons. Parker Fieldhouse is home to a 25 foot climbing wall with open climbs and belay training. Parker Fieldhouse also houses day camp for children ages 5 to 13, with activities such as inline skating, soccer, and gymnasium. Enrichment classes and events, from organizational skills classes to children’s etiquette classes, are offered for youth and adults. Themed “Parents’ Night Out” offers activities, games and movies to keep kids entertained while mom and dad enjoy a date night. Downtown Parker offers western charm with modern conveniences. You can hang out at local bars and restaurants and go shopping in the many town centers that Parker offers. Parker also offers an abundance of trails and parks for those who enjoy the outdoors.
You won’t run out of choices when it comes to choosing the right neighborhood for you and your family. Some of these neighborhoods include Idyllwilde, Bradbury Ranch, and Pradera. Parker is a lovely town with such unique charm. The best part is that it is minutes from the rest of the Denver Metro Area.
