Lone Tree is on the northern border of Douglas County. The city of Lone Tree incorporated in November 1995. It became a Home Rule City in May of 1998. In 2000, Lone Tree residents voted to annex RidgeGate, a 3500-acre planned community. In 2001, Lone Tree annexed Heritage Hills, a commercial development to the north, Centennial Ridge and Carriage Club. 2003 saw the construction of Sky Ridge Medical Center and centralized city offices. The city’s police force was established in 2004, which also brought the annexation of Southridge Preserve, and a residential development planned for south of Centennial Ridge. Park Ridge Mall was annexed in 2006, which further increased revenues. Light rail came to the city in 2006 with Lincoln Station and 2008’s Park Meadows Mall station. Lone Tree has quickly become one of the top cities in the Denver Metro Area to work, live, and play. Lone Tree is making a name for itself with wonderful neighborhoods, great work areas, and tons of options for entertainment.
Shopping areas within the city include Park Meadows Mall, Lincoln Commons Shopping Center, Park Meadows Town Center, Lone Tree Commons, and Park Meadows Marketplace. Retailers include American Girl, Nordstrom, Sprouts Farmers Market, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Wrangler, Kohl’s Department Store, Sam’s Club, The Container Store, Old Navy, Best Buy and Pet Smart. Recreational opportunities include Lone Tree Golf Club, a tennis center and park, GoPutt Miniature Golf, The Bluffs Regional Park, Prairie Sky Park, Cool Creek Pool, extensive trail systems, free summer concerts, Skyventure Indoor Skydiving, bowling and movie theaters.
Aside from shopping, Lone Tree offers great housing for you and your family. The prestigious RidgeGate community is located in this city. You can also find the neighborhoods of Heritage Hills, Centennial Ridge, and Carriage club in Lone Tree. No matter where you go in this city, Lone Tree will always offer something new to your family.
