Douglas County’s newest city is none other than Castle Pines. Castle Pines is a city approximately 20 miles southeast of Denver along I-25. In 2007, voters chose to incorporate the area in order to have a greater say in local government and Castle Pines became a city in 2008.
Since then, it has been a great place for families that are looking for luxury and tranquility outside the city. The only Colorado community to make the list, the City of Castle Pines ranked 17th in CNN Money Magazine’s 2013 Best Places to Live — Top-Earning Towns list due to its quality schools, proximity to Rocky Mountain nature and participation in community events. The median household income for Castle Pines is over $155,000, nearly three times the median income for the state.
The Ridge at Castle Pines North is one of the area’s best-reviewed golf courses, including being ranked at 4.5/5 stars for “Places You Can Play” by Golf Digest. While playing the course, panoramic views of the Downtown Denver skyline, as well as sweeping mountain views, may distract even the most seasoned duffer. For the maximum Castle Pines experience, you can become a member of the Country Club at Castle Pines. This club offers a 7,400-yard golf course, exquisite dining, and breath-taking views. Castle Pines is the true oasis outside of the city.
