University Hills is a district of Denver approximately 8 miles southeast of downtown Denver. The neighborhood is bordered by I25, Hampden Avenue and Colorado Boulevard.
History / Description
University Hills, as a district, is a mixture of business and residential areas. The business side is located along Colorado Blvd and includes big stores, an important movie theater complex, restaurants, and a Dave & Busters.
The residential neighborhoods are located in the southeast of University Hills District. It includes wealthy residential areas with large streets, well-maintained homes on large lots with ample foliage. It is a perfect ‘hood for families with kids and those wanting to be connected to nature and live in the city in the same time. The 66 miles long High Line Canal recreation trail and the lovely Eisenhower Park are other reasons to move to this highly desirable location. Some find the area too quiet for their taste and prefer more vibrant ‘hoods.

The light rail stations are also easily accessible: Colorado station (intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Interstate 25), and the Yale station (intersection Yale Avenue and Interstate 25.
Car2Go is not operating in the area but the University neighborhood located in the northwest of University Hills is in the range of Car2Go.

In the center of the district you can find a modern shopping complex. King Sooper’s, Michael’s craft store Pier 1 Imports and Natural Grocers and Evans are also present in the neighborhood.
In Eisenhower Park, you can find a recreational center that includes a pool. Don’t forget the High Line Canal Trail, following the Denver water canal between Aurora and Roxborough State Park. Add to this the Magna Carta Park located in the Southwest of University Hills and the Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, the largest outdoor amphitheater in the city of Denver, located just South of University Hills via I25, famous for hosting artists and bands concerts and you will have an image of what you can do as a resident of University Hills.
