It was the year 1945. That was the year that Cherry Hills Village became an incorporated city. Fast forward to today: Cherry Hills Village is well-known for being a luxurious and exquisite place to call home. It has been considered one of the most affluent places in not only Colorado, but in the U.S.
Cherry Hills Village is a Home Rule Municipality located south of Denver and minutes away from I-25 and Light Rail stations. Anywhere you choose to live in Cherry Hills Village is going to be nothing short of luxurious. Cherry Hills Village has unique character and provides single-family homes and community south of Denver. Part of the larger Denver metro area, the city is currently working to develop a Village Center for community gatherings.

The Cherry Hills Country Club has hosted multiple United States Golf Association (USGA) championships. The U.S. Open was held there in 1938 (won by Ralph Guldahl), 1960 (won by Arnold Palmer) and 1978 (Andy North). Phil Mickelson won the U.S. Amateur at Cherry Hills CC in 1990, and Steven Fox won the U.S. Amateur there in 2012. The 1993 U.S. Senior Open held at Cherry Hills CC was won by Jack Nicklaus. Birdie Kim won the U.S. Women’s Open hosted by Cherry Hills CC in 2005. PGA championships were hosted by Cherry Hills CC in 1941 and 1985. It is said that Arnold Palmer first ordered his signature drink of half iced tea, half lemonade at the Cherry Hills CC while there to win the 1960 U.S. Open.
