Home to over 100,000 residents, Centennial is located in the south metro Denver area. Centennial was formed from portions of unincorporated Arapahoe County in 2001, after involvement by the Colorado State Supreme Court. Cherry Creek Centre, Saddle Rock Ranches and the Arapahoe Lima Dealership were annexed in 2002. In 2003, Bow Tie open space was acquired, along with the annexation of the WalMart property. In 2007, Comcast property on Dry Creek was annexed. 2009 saw the annexation of Fremont property, Estancia, Chapel Hill, Piney Creek Village and Arapahoe High School.

Centennial is typical suburbia but has topped the list of safest cities in Colorado for eight years running. In 2012, Money Magazine ranked Centennial 47th on its list of “100 Best Small Cities to Live”.

Centennial boasts award-winning, 11 acre Centennial Center Park, which features historical and educational elements, water features, rock climbing, playgrounds, and multiple shelter areas. Centennial Center Park received the 2012 Colorado Lottery’s Starburst award. In 2013, the park received the Denver Regional Council of Government’s Live, Work, Play award.

Centennial has quickly become a city in which families can grow and play. Whether you are the outdoorsy type or love the night life, Centennial has something to offer for everyone. Neighborhoods such as Smoky Hill and Southglenn offer great living for single people and families alike. Centennial is within minutes from the Arapahoe and Orchard Light Rail stations, offering easy access to Denver and surrounding areas. The Streets at Southglenn opened in 2009, featuring shopping and dining. One can also drive down ten minutes to get to Park Meadows Mall. With all that is offered, Centennial is a great place to live!
