Modmarket which is located at 1000 S Colorado Blvd., Ste 101, Glendale, CO 80246 serves real food. By real food, they mean food made from simple, whole ingredients (things like whole grain flour, raw vegetables, fruits, legumes…you get the idea). They serve food the way it was cooked hundreds of years ago – raw, grilled or cooked in a stone hearth oven. They avoid things like preservatives and artificial sweeteners and keep their ingredient lists short and sweet. They make things from scratch, which is a total pain, but it makes their food taste better. Some of their items are locally sourced, some are organic and all are the highest quality we can find.
Heather M. from Denver, CO says: “I loved the salad I had (I put my own together with mixed greens, edamame, corn, artichokes, quinoa, and almonds). I was asked in the beginning which protein I wanted (I chose chicken)…I didn’t realize it was an option not to pay the extra 2.50 – I thought it was included as one of my toppings. I didn’t love my champagne vinaigrette (got it on the side so not a big deal….the salad didn’t even need dressing). I usually don’t drop $10 on a salad, but this may have been worth it. I love the environment and my salad was delicious! I look forward to going back to try something else.”
Mike L. from Denver, CO says: “Out shopping on Colorado Blvd? Take a lunch break at ModMarket, kinda hidden next to Barnes & Noble Books. The decor is, well, mod…with lots of linear steel, glass, and wood…an elegant dining room. I like the quiet, private patio! The fare here is healthy and eclectic. The salads are original and tasty: try the “Thai Coconut” version, it comes with chicken, mango, peanut, sweet potato, and…coconut. Unique (to me) and refreshingly yummy and filling! The sandwiches here are great, solid offerings on Udi’s good bread! You won’t find anything like the “Piquillo Pork” at your average sandwich joint. I had this with some “Curry Split Pea” soup that was thick and packed with flavor. They also have a lotta pizza too, though I haven’t tried it yet. However, spying on other tables, I would say the pizza looks intriguing (unusual toppings!). The Soda Fountain here features all Boylan brand soda pops made with CANE SUGAR, not the high fructose corn syrup, sorghum, and sugar beet crap in big name sodas. Corn syrup metabolizes slower and generates a hunger for MORE corn syrup! Try a real Root Beer or a real Ginger Ale. There is a difference! ModMarket is expanding to other locations. Search one out for a good lunch or light dinner.”
