If you’re anything like me, you love being informed about the major events going on in the city. In Denver, there is so much excitement going on around us. Whether it’s a new restaurant opening, a cocktail event, fundraiser, new art exhibit; you name it and this city has got it. Here’s a breakdown of some cool things happening in the great city of Denver in April.
April is the start of warm weather and that means brunch! I love getting brunch and I’m sure you do too. If you haven’t been to Beast and Bottle (719 E 17th Ave) then you don’t know what you’re missing. Their Farm-to-table philosophy makes this place shine. Table 6 (609 Corona St) won best brunch in 2013 and best hip-hop brunch in 2014. DJ Ginger Perry sets the stage with dance party beats meant to start your Sunday on point. Last, but not least is Squeak Bean (1500 Wynkoop St) where the alcohol is served strong, the staff makes you feel like family, and they got bingo with prizes!
Thinking of concerts in April? Me too. If country is your thing, George Straight will be playing at the Pepsi Center Saturday the 5th. Or maybe you’re into big air skiing and dance party music? SnowBall at Sports Authority Field at Mile High from April 4th through the 6th might be your thing. How about one of the most amazing international pop groups in the world? Il Divo will be at Bellco Theatre, Colorado Convention Center April 16th. Who could forget Gavin DeGraw playing at the Paramount Theatre April 22nd?
Denver has some great shows to offer you this April. If you’re a Bronco’s fan you won’t want to miss the Denver Bronco’s Cheerleading Finals April 6th at Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Rock of Ages will be playing at The Buell Theatre April 25th through the 27th. Wayne Brady from Who’s Line Is It Anyways will be in town April 12th for a performance at The Paramount Theatre.
Denver has some great sporting events to look forward to in April. The last game of the season for the Colorado Mammoth is April 11th. Denver Nuggets square off against the Utah Jazz April 12th. The Nuggets will also play the Golden State Warriors April 16th.
Last but not least is the Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Many of my friends have gone and said that it was one incredible exhibit that’s great for kids, super educational and a fun time for the whole family. This exhibit will continue running through August 24th. It’s a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon in April.
If you hadn’t figured it out quite yet let me just be blunt; there’s plenty to do in Denver for the month of April. I didn’t even touch on the art exhibits or festivals. There’s something for everyone here and that’s what makes Denver so great.
